Good Morning! Hope everyone had a blessed Easter. I was so busy, I can't believe I got everything done. Here's my weekend list: trim Kaitlin's bangs, cut all of Henry's hair, run to the fabric store, made Kaitlin a dress, cooked enough carrots for 30 people(thank goodness for the family potuck - otherwise I'd have had to cook more items), gave myself a manicure and pedicure so my feet could swell up in those cute summery sandals I've been dying to wear, Re-dust the living room since we ran our cooler without cleaning out the ducts (duh, we's not too smart), ran laundry and ironed Easter clothes, boiled eggs, colored eggs, painted cute little hanging Easter puppets from local craft store with kids . . . . That may be it, but not sure. That may not seem like much of a list for some, but for this old prego lady, that's pretty good. And I still managed to watch The Ten Commandments last night. Silly, since I've seen it so many times, but such a work of art. They take a few liberties with the story, but oh is Charlton Heston amazing. I know he's almost a cliche, but I love him anyway. And what's her name who plays his wife, so graceful. Of course this piece is greatly colored by the era in which it was created - I think that is part of the experience. I managed to miss the end because I fell asleep. Oh well. Here's what it is like to have a 9 year old. "Oh Mom, I'm really interested in this movie, can I stay up and watch the whole thing?" says my Henry after he finds out it's on 'till midnight. Always angling and he knows that if he throws a educational edge to his voice, I'll be more likely to CAVE! Ha! Not me - bed at 10 for you buddy. (Nevermind that the normal school night bedtime is 9!!!) Food was so good at the aforementioned potluck that I'm almost sorry I went. Ate like a pig and me with a doctor's appt this week. I'll be good for a few days and hopefully won't have gained 10 pounds this week! Hehe. Must get excercise. Must work in garden. Must take nap. Which do you think will win?
