Noop - didn't make it to Costco yesterday. Dh came home mid-morning from his jury duty call and hung around for a few hours and lunch, after which I napped! Ahhh that feels good. Then, since dh was going to be late from work, I took the kids out to the mall. Had Kaitlin's hair cut to her shoulders - every day is a screaming crying match and washing it - forget it! We walked around a bit and I splurged and got myself a Mary Engelbreit coffee cup that matches this set. Then we went to Michael's and got snake stickers for Kait(go figure!) and some wood carving supplies for Henry's new hobby. Well, the first thing he created was a phaser from Star Trek. What a kid. Of course, he had Dad's help shaping it with the band saw and then they went to work carving out buttons and seams, etc. We've got a bit more to do today and then he'll paint it. He even slept with it last night! LOL! Oh to be 9 again!

I was feeling like Eeyore today. "Oh well, [in monotone Eeyore voice] haveta go get groceries, haveta clean the house . . . . " and then Jenn called! How cool was that? I had a great time talking on the phone - and a tough time shutting up for Jenn to get a word in edgewise! Sorry Jenn! I try so hard to let others talk, but I get excited and the rest is history! LOL! You sound so cute and I can't believe we talked for almost 2 hours! Send me a bill. And of course the minute we got off the phone, I thought of a thousand things to ask about. Well, maybe not a thousand! Anyway, they'll wait until next time. Now I'm all jazzed up and want to go shopping or something. Not exactly conducive to getting the housework done, but maybe I can squeeze in a Costco run? We'll see.

Well, it finally happened to me, too. Feeling boring, so I make a cute post stabbing fun at myself and hit "Post & Pubish" . . . . and it vanished!!! Argh Now I know how you felt, Jenn!
Short version of the aformentioned story: My smart-a** cat, who has figured out that if she wakes up my kids, I will feed her or let her out, has started opening their bedroom door at night and waking up my light sleeping dd! She used to try to wake me up, but when I learned to ignore her, she went for the kids. SO . . . . I tell my dh that the kids' door doesn't close and it needs a new door knob. SO . . . . he gets one and has tremendous difficulty getting the old on off - it's stuck! - finally uses the saws-all to get it, puts on the new one, shuts the door and guess what? It STILL doesn't shut. Turns out the door is warped just enough to make it too hard for my dd to latch it in the middle of the night. Drats. Foiled again. I suppose next time dh will check it out before taking my word for it? 8-]
So I was going to start doing the friday five from last week. "Fun," I thought, "I can do this. I'll join in." But when I realized all my answers to this latest list would be the same and potty talk at that, I decided to wait until later! Read Ali's and then picture each answer as "pee" and you get the drift. Check out the Friday Five site. Come back and I'll promise to try to keep the potty talk to a minimum!

Had to almost die of embarrassment when I went to Groovy Blog on Monday! A new set was posted and I just kind of slunked away. Now I know Ali better. Ya' won't get me next year!! LOL
I am also missing Jenn. Where are you, Jennie-doo? (Been watching too much scooby doo lately, sorry!) Daring to have a life, no doubt. Miss ya, hun! Di

Tried to blog yesterday and could'nt get in! Hey all you guys, take it easy, eh?! LOL! Of course, I can't even remember what I was going to post, so what's the point!?! Anyway . . . . pretty interesting happenings over here. Well for us anyway. We are in the process of adding on to our house. Have been for about 3 years now. Long story there. Anyway, we are now ready to wrap and stucco the addon, but were afraid we wouldn't have the money to do it right now. Guy came last night with a great price, we hired him (based on the price and the work we'd seen him do down the street from us) and he was supposed to call my dh to schedule it. Well, at 8 am this morning, there he is dropping off supplies and they are out there hammering as I type. I have real mixed feeling about this. On the one hand, I am so glad to see this going forward - kind of feels like the downhill slide, you know? On the other hand, I was less than thrilled to answer the door in my nightgown to see the delivery guy wondering where to drop the wire rolls. (I know I know, but I'm pregnant and we homeschool, so there isn't *usually* the need to be up and dressed by 8 am.) But, its done now and why complain? I'll be laughing about it by tomorrow probably. We'll see.

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a blessed Easter. I was so busy, I can't believe I got everything done. Here's my weekend list: trim Kaitlin's bangs, cut all of Henry's hair, run to the fabric store, made Kaitlin a dress, cooked enough carrots for 30 people(thank goodness for the family potuck - otherwise I'd have had to cook more items), gave myself a manicure and pedicure so my feet could swell up in those cute summery sandals I've been dying to wear, Re-dust the living room since we ran our cooler without cleaning out the ducts (duh, we's not too smart), ran laundry and ironed Easter clothes, boiled eggs, colored eggs, painted cute little hanging Easter puppets from local craft store with kids . . . . That may be it, but not sure. That may not seem like much of a list for some, but for this old prego lady, that's pretty good. And I still managed to watch The Ten Commandments last night. Silly, since I've seen it so many times, but such a work of art. They take a few liberties with the story, but oh is Charlton Heston amazing. I know he's almost a cliche, but I love him anyway. And what's her name who plays his wife, so graceful. Of course this piece is greatly colored by the era in which it was created - I think that is part of the experience. I managed to miss the end because I fell asleep. Oh well. Here's what it is like to have a 9 year old. "Oh Mom, I'm really interested in this movie, can I stay up and watch the whole thing?" says my Henry after he finds out it's on 'till midnight. Always angling and he knows that if he throws a educational edge to his voice, I'll be more likely to CAVE! Ha! Not me - bed at 10 for you buddy. (Nevermind that the normal school night bedtime is 9!!!) Food was so good at the aforementioned potluck that I'm almost sorry I went. Ate like a pig and me with a doctor's appt this week. I'll be good for a few days and hopefully won't have gained 10 pounds this week! Hehe. Must get excercise. Must work in garden. Must take nap. Which do you think will win?
